Flame Retardant Synergist Product Range Based on Zinc (Hydroxy)stannate Chemistry

Our product range offers flame retardant synergists with flame retardant (FR) activity and smoke suppression capabilities. These products are a competitive alternative to traditional halogen-containing materials.

  • REACH Registered: Our products are REACH registered and do not have any hazard classifications.
  • Replacement for Antimony Trioxide: These products serve as an effective replacement for the commonly used, yet concerning, antimony trioxide.

Applications:

  • Plasticized PVC: Flexible PVC compounds require flame retardant additives due to the flammable plasticizers used to provide flexibility. Flamtard™ H and X are ideal alternatives to traditional antimony-containing additives. These products feature controlled particle sizes to ensure optimal dispersibility in plasticized PVC systems. Typical applications include PVC wire and cable, PVC-coated technical textiles, wall coverings, and flooring.
  • Polyamides: In engineering plastics, non-flammability is a critical performance parameter. As demand increases for flame retardant properties in applications such as electrical components for electric vehicles, high-performance additives are essential. Flamtard™ S is an ideal additive for boosting flame retardant properties when used alongside halogenated or non-halogenated additives. Additionally, when combined with non-halogenated additives, Flamtard™ S can enhance anti-corrosion properties.
  • Elastomers, Thermoplastics & Thermosets: Flamtard™ products can improve flame retardant properties in various halogenated polymer systems, alongside additives like brominated flame retardants or chlorinated polymers/waxes. These include elastomers (such as EPDM and TPEs), polyolefins (PE, PP), composites, thermoplastic urethanes, and acrylic fibers. In non-halogenated systems, Flamtard™ products also promote char formation and reduce smoke density.
