The birth of Keyser & Mackay Uk was forged in April 2022 following a chat between the current Sales Director,  Charles Lynch and the Managing Partners. Charles has operated in the specialty chemical sector for more than 30 years and had enjoyed working with the Keyser & Mackay group during his previous commercial role with one of their UK principals. The early days focused on finding existing Keyser and Mackay group principals that had the space, and desire to operat with Keyser & Mackay in the UK and Ireland. This led to the swift addition of JHSi (silanes), Pflaumer Brothers (polyaspartic amines), and Neograf (expandable graphite to the product portfolio.

The next milestone was the acquisition of the independent, UK based chemical distributor Alliance Chemicals in October 2024. This stepping stone added a number of principals to the portfolio such as Nouryon (ethanol amines, ethylene amines, sodiumthiocyanate), Axcentive (Ketjenflex® sulfonamides, Halamid® disinfectant), and Balchem (Choline Chloride).

As a corollary of this strategic initiative, the legal entity Keyser & Mackay Ltd was forged accompanied by the establishment of the Uk office in Preston, Lancashire. The k team has been developed by the addition of Cathie Clay and Nicky Garth, to form the Inside Sales Department. They have each been operating in customer care roles within the chemical industry for around 25 years, and share a passion for customer intimacy, and relationship building.

The future looks bright as the Uk entity looks to add principals, expand the customer base and keep shining in the shadows.
